Jim Sauter, Jr. Ends Winless Streak
Berwick, PA (August 3, 2015)- Five dollar admission helped pack the stands Friday night at Golden Sands Speedway in Plover WI. Those fans definitely got their monies worth, as the Super Late Model action was intense and the end result was Jim Sauter, Jr. standing in victory lane with his first feature win with his own team and also his first victory since 2013.

Sauter began the evening with an ill handling racecar in practice. His dedicated crew went to work in a hurry and their efforts paid off in a big way, as he scored the heat race win. Not long after Sauter took the checkers in the main event.

“It feels great to be back in victory lane”, noted Sauter after the big win.

“My guys never gave up on me and our sponsors and supporters are truly the best in our sport. I’m glad they didn’t give up on me after being winless with my new team.”

Sauter was supposed to compete the following day in the TUNDRA Series but decided to give up fourth in points to spend the day with his family.

“I’ve been working so hard and haven’t been home as much as I would like”, he noted. “It made perfect sense to skip this one to spend time with Katie and the kids, especially after getting this win under my belt.”

Jim Sauter, Jr. Having Success During Busy Summer of Competition

Berwick, PA (July 19, 2015)- Although Jim Sauter, Jr. of Tomah, WI got a late start to the racing season last year, that wasn’t the case this season, as the popular Super Late Model driver didn’t waste any time showing his fans that he’s ready to get back to victory lane.

Just a few weeks ago Sauter finished as the runner up at Golden Sands Speedway. He followed up that effort on July 3rd with another runner up effort after setting fast time at LaCrosse Speedway, which was round no. 3 of the TUNDRA Super Late Model Series.

This past weekend he and his team made a last minute change, which forced him to settle for fifth at Golden Sands Speedway. Despite being caught up in an early incident at Dells Raceway Park on Saturday, Sauter piloted his #45 to an eighth place finish in the TUNDRA Series show.

“It’s been a great season so far”, noted Sauter as he reflected on the season that he’s had so far.

“My guys have been working really hard and our sponsors have really helped us out quite a bit lately. They’re the absolute best!”

Even though he’s happy with the season so far, Sauter admits that it could be a lot better.

“I just need to get to victory lane. It’s been too long and we’ve come so close so many times, especially this season.”

He continued, “I promise, it’ll happen really soon.”

The next event for Jim Sauter, Jr. Racing is Friday, July 31 at Golden Sands Speedway. He’s also planning to compete in round no. 5 of the TUNDRA Series the following day at State Park Speedway in Wausau, WI.

Jim Sauter, Jr. Racing and WARRANT
Team Up For Midwest Run

Berwick, PA (3/28/2015)- Straight out of the Midwest, Jim Sauter, Jr. of Tomah, WI and his family owned race team, Jim Sauter, Jr. Racing, have teamed up with heavy metal rock band, WARRANT, for cross promotional purposes between the two markets. After all, auto racing and rock-n-roll tend to fit like a hand and glove.

Formed in 1984 and with well over 10 million album sales spanning the last two and a half decades, WARRANT came into the world spotlight when their debut album, Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich reached stardom. Consisting of band members Erik Turner, Jerry Dixon, Steven Sweet, Joey Allen and Rob Mason on lead vocals, they continue to tour worldwide and play in front of sold out crowds on a regular basis.

Well known for hits such as Heaven, Down Boys, Sometimes She Cries, Cherry Pie, Uncle Tom’s Cabin and a slew of others, WARRANT has a great and intense fan base, stretched around the globe. The Los Angeles based group didn’t have a silver spoon handed to them when the played on the Sunset Strip back in the day, as they had to scratch, scrape and claw their way to make it in the business, a business which has drastically changed over the last twenty years. In auto racing, Jim Sauter, Jr. is doing exactly the same, minus the Sunset Strip of course!
“On behalf of the band, and as fans of all things that Go Fast, we’re really stoked to be affiliated with Jim Sauter, Jr. Racing”, said WARRANT’s founding member and guitarist, Erik Turner.
“There are many WARRANT fans in the Midwest who are very supportive with our music and I’m sure that many of them aren’t just Rockaholics, but also race fans too!”

The Sauter family name is iconic in motorsports, especially in the Midwest. From the late Jim Sauter, Sr, who put Necedah, WI on the map when he ran the then NASCAR Winston Cup Series in the 80s and 90s, to his sons, Jay, Tim and Johnny, who are all household names in NASCAR competition. Just like his father and brothers did earlier, it was only a matter of time until Jim, Jr. jumped into the driver’s seat to make a name for himself.

Johnny Sauter currently competes in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and Jim, Jr. does battle at numerous Midwest tracks in the ultra-competitive Super Late Model division.

Aside from being a driver, Jim got his feet wet by being a racecar mechanic. He’s helped out various teams over the years and continues to do so when his schedule allows. He’s worked as the front tire changer and Car Chief/Crew Chief for a team on the NASCAR Xfinity and Camping World Truck Series in the mid 90s and then worked as Car Chief, Shop Foreman and Front Tire Changer on various NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series teams.

His racing plans for this season is all sponsorship dependent. His goal heading into this season was to compete in as many races as possible in the ARCA Midwest Tour. However, with the economy still weak when it comes to folks advertising on racecars, he may compete at many Midwest short tracks, including Marshfield Motor Speedway and Golden Sand Speedway, where he claimed track championships at in 2012 and 2013 respectively. Of course a few ARCA Midwest Tour events will likely be on his schedule.

“I’m really pumped for the season and very happy that WARRANT is on board with us to help promote our team this year”, noted Sauter.

“Obviously, we’ll promote them as much as possible too, just like we do with our other great supporters.”

Like all racecar drivers do, Jim Sauter, Jr. says that making races wouldn’t be possible without his great sponsors and supporters, which include Don’s Auto Truck Center, Davis Auto Sales, Sauter Floor Covering, Gawronski Signs, Dean’s Satellite and Security and Tyler Jett Motorsports Marketing.
